Dropkick Your Tone a la Jeff DaRosa
Boston-based Celtic punk outfit Dropkick Murphys have pumped out countless shades of sonic solidarity for decades, and multi-instrumentalist Jeff DaRosa’s distinct performance needs demand an equally formidable axe with the versatility to match. This is where Duesenberg enters the fold with the Alliance Series Jeff DaRosa signature model. Its chambered-mahogany, maple-capped body bears a striking PUR lacquer finish with exquisite nickel-plated hardware, including Duesenberg’s own 3-Point Radius Bridge, innovative Speed Pot volume control, and state-of-the-art Split/King pickup. Premier tonewoods comprising mahogany and Indian rosewood adorn the neck and compound-radius fingerboard, accommodating countless playstyles across its 22-fret range. Guitarists at Sweetwater are aghast at the flexibility of this guitar’s tonal and mechanical appointments, engineered from the ground up to provide uncompromising versatility to support your style.

Three premium tonewoods, one ultimate punk machine
For all the tone crafting that you can accomplish with modern instruments, a solid foundation has never been more important. To that end, Duesenberg’s luthiers spared no effort in selecting and constructing each signature Jeff DaRosa guitar. Its chambered mahogany body reduces weight while increasing the tonewood’s already-immense resonance, amplifying its natural sustain, warmth, punchy mids, and resounding lows. A maple top imbues your tones with a natural brightness and full-spectrum articulation that enriches the low and midrange sonics of the mahogany neck and body, complementing its range with treble-favoring clarity. An Indian rosewood fingerboard rounds out this tonewood triumvirate, supplying a glassy, crystalline veneer to your overall output while maintaining excellent voicing through each register.
Split/King sonics for uncompromising versatility
Duesenberg founder Dieter Gölsdorf’s unrelenting vision for the future of the guitar led to one of the company’s most important operating tenets: virtually everything is made and designed in-house. From the 18:1 Z-Tuners to the 3-Point Radius Wraparound Bridge, every bit of hardware has been meticulously crafted and tailored for each instrument. For Jeff DaRosa’s signature model, a mindbogglingly versatile Split/King pickup over three shades of sonic versatility. You might be wondering how a single-pickup guitar makes use of a 3-way rotary switch, and the answer may surprise you. The onboard pickup operates in three modes: true single-coil, true humbucker, and a combination of the two styles offering even greater flexibility.
Superlative playability, power, and panache
The Alliance Series Jeff DaRosa signature guitar’s one-piece mahogany neck features a Classic “D”-shaped neck profile that melds classic comfort with superlative support for a laundry list of playstyles. Its set-in neck joint is crafted to optimize sonic fluidity across its trio of tonewoods. Meanwhile, the compound-radius fingerboard — 12 to 14 inches — emphasizes access and playability that supports all manners of riffs, solos, licks, and leads. Attention to detail abounds throughout this guitar, whether it’s the banjo-inspired plate, pickup-cover mesh, or the controls. In fact, the Speed Pot volume control features a laser-etched monogram of Jeff’s initials. Compared to conventional control knobs, the Speed Pot reduces the rotational angle to a 70-degree spread, accommodating expeditious attenuation without compromising accuracy.
Duesenberg: the 6-string pride of Deutschland
Founded by German guitar designer Dieter Gölsdorf in 1989, Duesenberg guitars represent a multinational mixing pot of American art deco aesthetics, hot-rod heritage, and exacting German engineering. Duesenberg’s utterly distinctive instruments — affectionately dubbed “Doozys” by their adherents — gleam with proprietary parts and pickups that merge the daring appointments of the early electric guitar age with the pinpoint precision of modern manufacturing excellence. From the iconic Starplayer semi-hollow guitars to basses, lap steels, and beyond, every Duesenberg that Sweetwater carries embodies consummate artisanship. Fittingly, this unerring dedication has attracted more than a few luminaries, including the likes of Bob Dylan, Joe Walsh, Mike Campbell, John Mayer, and Tom Bukovac. For the musician who demands superlative performance, idiosyncratic innovation, and master-level musical detail in equal measure, only a Doozy will do.
