American-made Rocker with a Sleek, Offset Body

One thing’s for sure, the Harmony Silhouette is a sleek-looking instrument. This American-made rocker boasts an offset alder body that’s sure to garner second glances, while gold-foil Alnico III mini humbuckers churn out a whole range of dazzling, vintage-inflected tonal textures. The Silhouette is built to inspire — its hand-filling "C"-shaped neck with a just-right 25-inch scale and glassy 12-inch-radius rosewood fingerboard ensures playability that equals its jaw-dropping appearance and alluring sound. A classic nitrocellulose lacquer finish and Harmony's iconic Custom Cupcake knobs round out this upscale axe’s features. The Silhouette includes an ultra-padded Mono Vertigo soft case that makes gigging around town a piece of cake.

American made from premium tonewoods

Alder and maple are a recipe for tonal perfection. Alder is reputed to be one of the most balanced-sounding tonewoods on the planet. Lows, mids, highs — they all ring out loud and true. Maple is a guitarist’s secret weapon for adding snap and sustain to their playing. And when you add rosewood to the party, all bets are off — it’s instant tonal nirvana. The Harmony Silhouette boasts an offset, double-cut alder body that joins a rosewood-capped maple neck by way of an extremely ergonomic low-profile heel. Together, these create a smooth response in the hands and an unforgettable playing experience for any low-wattage tube amp in your collection. And just like another legacy American guitar brand, the Harmony Silhouette is handbuilt in Kalamazoo, Michigan, with the right touches of heirloom quality and modern precision.

Gold-foil mini-humbucking pickups

Gold-foil pickups began popping up on student guitars from the likes of Harmony and Teisco in the 1950s and '60s, then saw a brief resurgence in boutique instruments in the mid-2010s. And just like that, as quickly as they came, they were gone again. But the tone maestros at Harmony never forgot the touch response and retro good vibes these pickups were all about. That's why the Harmony Silhouette comes stock with a custom-voiced set of gold-foil mini-humbucking pickups. These pickups exhibit a character — a bite, a chime, a spank, a spark — you're not likely to find in other pickup types. Alnico III magnets and Orange drop caps give these humbuckers a nice vintage-y warmth and roundness. If you're looking for classic tone and touch dynamics, you'll find it in the Silhouette.

A proud new chapter in Harmony's handcrafted American legacy

American-made Harmony guitars have been found in the hands of pro musicians and hobbyists since 1892. The Harmony Silhouette is a welcomed return to form for the American instrument company, combining old-world techniques with more than 125 years of technical know-how to bring today's players a taste of its Kalamazoo heritage. Discover for yourself what great guitars are made of — get your hands on the Harmony Silhouette solidbody electric guitar through Sweetwater.

Reviews

Converted a Fender fan!
I'll keep it short, this US made guitar exceeded all of my expectations. My favorite guitars previously were American Professional Fenders or Custom Shop. I realize that Fender and Gibson products have great resale value, but if you're looking for something amazing, buy a Harmony Guitar. (I actually ended up buying a Rebel as well, and was equally impressed)
The Offset for Tele Lovers (my #1)
I loved my american pro strat, and being near 'nuff to Fort Wayne, I came into the store to buy the american pro tele. I'm a Tele lover. I shot a few out against this one in the amp room - and even just acoustically, the Harmony was the clear winner. Quality of materials and finishing, the feel and comfort...and the sound...! I'm not careful with my guitars, but do maintain them myself - and this guitar is both easy to service and even better with age. Mine is an early one (with the ebony board) and after several years of nearly daily playing, she's become one of my best friends. It shares the #1 spot with a high-end T-style. And, when I had a custom neck made by Indy String Theory for that custom tele, my specs were simply: "Get as close to this as you can." I can pull strat-like tones out of the middle position, so sold the strat. I can get thick humbucker tones out of neck or bridge, so sold that other one, too. I don't miss them. When the zombies finally come for us all and we only have 30 seconds to grab 1-2 guitars and get out fast...I'll reach for my Harmony first.

Surpassed Expectations
I bought this guitar a year ago and I immediately loved it. It just feels great to play and the pickups are surprisingly versatile. I ended up selling my American Strat because I found myself only wanting to play the silhouette. The quality is honestly better at a lower price than the strat. Real attention to detail.
Highest quality for price
Harmony is doing amazing work building these in Kalamazoo MI, USA. The fit and finish is incredible, they sustain for days and have beautiful acoustic resonance. The mini humbuckers are bar-none the best pickups I've ever played, and I've owned dozens of $+ boutique handwound custom pickups from many of the top brands. This guitar is absolutely worth twice it's price, it swings WAY above the $ price point. They also come with incredible Mono Vertigo bags that are arguably the best cases on the market. You will NOT be disappointed by the Silhouette, it's an absolute sleeper among high-end quality instruments.
