Formidable German electronics
A premium active German bass needs proper German electronics, so Warwick has outfitted this Streamer with the best: MEC J-style pickups and a custom Warwick preamp. The heavily shielded pickups deliver massive tone, and the preamp includes a 3-band EQ that allows you to tweak your tone to perfection for any playing situation. This setup will also drive long cable runs and complex processing chains without a hint of noise. The control set includes a push-pull Volume pot that doubles as a preamp bypass, stacked with a Balance pan pot that lets you easily nail your preferred blend of the two pickups, and stacked Bass/Mid/Treble controls. Armed with such a formidable sound engine, this Custom Shop Streamer Stage I is an absolute tone beast that pumps out impossibly fat low end and crisp mid/high growl — a potent sonic elixir with the power to punch through busy arrangements and hold its own in any mix. Another cool feature is that you won’t have to mess with batteries; underneath the elegant wooden back plate resides a rechargeable battery pack.

Top-shelf tonewoods
Warwick’s Custom Shop luthiers went the extra mile in the construction of this Streamer Stage I, and it shows. Sitting atop a resonant swamp ash body, this impeccable instrument’s AAA koa top commands attention with its gorgeous visual appeal and excellent tonal properties — after all, mountains of sustain and tight note definition don't lie. The wenge neck and fingerboard, a tonewood favored by Warwick for many of its basses, support this tonal foundation while offering a veritable speedway for your fretting hand.
The benefits of Warwick’s in-house hardware
While making hardware in-house may not be cost-effective, bassists at Sweetwater think you’ll hear the difference in Warwick's approach. This Custom Shop Streamer's proprietary hardware includes a brass nut and bridge. Brass delivers a richer, clearer tone than other conventional nut and bridge materials and is in keeping with the traditional materials used to craft brass instruments for centuries. Similarly, the instrument’s jumbo frets are crafted from bell bronze, resulting in a bell-like musicality and a longer fret lifespan than nickel frets.
Warwick: high-performance basses for all players
In the 1970s and ’80s, the arrival of high-performance bass guitars from serious boutique luthiers gave accomplished electric bassists instruments that were capable of supporting their virtuosity when performing the demanding fusion music of the era. One such luthier was Hans-Peter Wilfer, who at the age of 24 founded Warwick in 1982. Three years later, his company launched the Thumb Bass, which would go on to revolutionize the industry. Precision crafted in Germany, the Thumb Bass was designed to support all playing styles. Notably — as referenced in the instrument’s name — it was specifically optimized for slap-and-pop, which by then had become a popular technique. Flash forward several decades, and Warwick is still at the top of its game. The first carbon-neutral company in the music business, Warwick has placed environmental consciousness at the core of its operations while crafting a full range of high-caliber basses for players of all levels. Sweetwater is proud to present to you Warwick’s exceptional lineup of innovative instruments.
