An Extremely Versatile 4-string Bass!

The Yamaha TRBX504 4-string bass guitar brings versatility, killer looks, and amazing performance together in a complete package. This sleek-looking, great-sounding bass gives you a comfortable Yamaha body shape and a fast-action bolt-on 5-piece maple/mahogany neck with a smooth-playing rosewood fingerboard. A pair of humbucking pickups delivers hum-free sound while powerful active electronics let you optimize your bass for different playing styles. Factor in the Yamaha TRBX504’s solid hardware and thoughtful design, and you’ve got a great-looking bass that’s ready to rock any stage or studio session.

Comfortable body with progressive styling

One look at the Yamaha TRBX504 4-string electric bass, and you know it means business. A deep cutaway gives you clean access to the higher registers for soloing, while the pronounced upper bout provides balance (and looks cool). The 5-piece maple/mahogany neck has a comfortable and fast-playing profile. The TRBX504 sports a precision fitted neck joint that contributes to the instrument's clear, punchy tone. And the straight string pull of the headstock offers improved tuning stability and reduces overtones. You’re going to love the way the TRBX504 looks, plays, and feels!

Humbucking pickups deliver massive bass tone

Yamaha loaded the TRBX504 with a pair of custom-designed HHB5 humbucking pickups. These pickups house Alnico V magnets and two pole pieces per string for big, open tone without any hum. On top of amazing pickup tone and performance, the TRBX504 has an extremely versatile set of active electronics so you can be ready for any gig. It starts off with an active/passive switch followed by a 3-band EQ, a balance control, and volume. The EQ lets you sculpt the perfect tone for live gigs and studio sessions. No matter what kind of sound you need, the Yamaha TRBX504 4-string bass can get you there in seconds!

The Yamaha TRBX504 4-string bass is covered by the company’s Limited Lifetime Warranty. At Sweetwater, the Yamaha marque commands respect. Yamaha TRBX504 “Brick Burst”
Shhh! Don't tell. Beautiful bass for any price. Body has beautiful woodgrain through a light stain with subtle burst on edges, will "wear" phenomenally. Neck is just as well presented and very pleasant to hold. Bought this because it remind me of the eyes of my service dog "Odin", who psssed away after 11 years of loving, devoted, loyal service & constant companionship. He is truly, missed. But will live on in his guitar collection and my love.
Miss you Buddy! We'll be together again soon, we'll play in the snow; until then. Love you. Dad.
YAMAHA TRBX504 IS AMAZING!
I'm 71 years old and have been playing guitar for 58 years. I have played acoustic guitar in church worship bands for 19 years and my church recently asked if I would consider playing bass. So, I purchased a Yamaha TRBX504 and couldn't be happier! My Gibson Songwriter Deluxe sells for approximately $... and to be able to buy a bass guitar of this high quality and playability for $... blows my mind!
Music background: Contemporary Christian Worship
AMAZING
This bass is amazing! The finish is a soft, almost bare wood, feel which is really nice when moving up and down the neck, and the brick burst color is subtle but also dramatic. I chose this bass because I wanted something to counter my Fender Classic Vibe 70s Squire J bass. I was looking for active/passive switching with double humbucker pickups and a 24 fret neck. The reason I chose the Yamaha 504 over other similar basses was because of the Mahagony and Maple body/neck and Rosewood fretboard. The active/passive ability of the 504 is where this baby really shines. The amount of varying tones you can achieve with the 504 is astonishing. I almost cried when I switched on the active mode for the first time because the sound was so beautiful! I did need to perform a setup as the E and A strings were rattling and the intonation was a little off on the A and D strings. The shipping from Sweetwater was fast and the bass was well packed for travel.
Pros: Great finish and color, great wood choices for the body and neck, active/passive switching, loads of tonal choices. Price
Cons: ?
Music background: Electric Bass 1 year
Great bass
The fit and finish is first class. It plays great for slap and pop. The employees at Sweetwater are the best. Just call them. I'm very happy I did!
Yamaha TRBX504
I have a Fender Pbass and a Jazz bass and decided I wanted a bass with active mode. So after some research and discussion with my Sweetwater tech, Josh, I settled on the Yamaha TRBX504. I have always been a Fender guy. After all, the Fender Pbass and Jazz bass are the icons of basses. But I have to say my Yamaha is different but just as good. Plays like butter and the tone is really good. Even on passive mode the Yamaha tone is strong, so good in fact, I still haven't tried the active mode yet. And the look is outstanding. I have received several positive comments about the looks of the Yamaha. I have had the Yamaha three weeks now and I have not put it down. I play in my Church praise band three times a week and have used it every time. I will get back to my Fenders because they are my first love, but right now the Yamaha has stolen my heart.
