Classic Analog Tape Delay and Spring Reverb
Universal Audio's illustrious DPS engineering team has done it again! With its UAD Galaxy Tape Echo plug-in, you get an impeccable emulation of the Roland RE-201 Space Echo, the same analog tape delay and spring reverb unit used by the likes of Lee "Scratch" Perry, Pink Floyd, and David Bowie. UA has captured every facet of this beloved '70s hardware unit, down to its input-driven distortion and added new enhancements for modern workflows. Sweetwater producers particularly love the added Tempo Sync, which allows you to time-align effects with note duration values. A blinking display lets you know when your settings wouldn't be possible on the original — a testament to UA's authenticity. There's also a new Tape Select feature that lets you choose between New, Old, and Used tape for different wow and flutter variations, plus new Effects Pan knobs for placing effects precisely in your mix. Finally, great-sounding stock presets immediately give you legendary analog delay/reverb effects. A Wet Solo knob can be turned on/off for using the UAD Galaxy Tape Echo as a traditional aux send or track insert, respectively.
Note: Do you own Apollo hardware? By purchasing this plug-in, you will receive two licenses: one license allows you to run the plug-in via your computer’s CPU and the other allows you to run it via your Apollo hardware. Please contact your Sweetwater Sales Engineer if you have any questions.

An incredibly creative tool
Introduced in the early ’70s, the Roland RE-201 Space Echo quickly found its way onto many prog, dub, and psychedelic albums. However, its warm-sounding effects and real-time tweakability are still coveted today. It sounds excellent when used “normally,” but musicians also appreciate its creative applications. Automating the Echo Rate and Feedback knobs creates chaotic noise effects. Driving the Input Source hard adds musical distortion. Using its Treble and Bass knobs subtly boosts high and low frequencies without adding a separate EQ. The UAD Galaxy Tape Echo Plug-in not only captures the seemingly endless possibilities of the legendary original hardware unit but also adds to them.

Exclusive plug-in bonuses
In addition to the fantastic cache of presets, UA has also added Effects Pan, Tempo Sync, and Tape Select. Turning Tempo Sync on/off lets you time-align your effects based on note duration values or milliseconds. Effects Pan allows you to place the amount of your effects however you’d like across your L and R channels. Finally, Tape Select lets you choose between New, Used, and Old tape sounds, with different wow and flutter effects for each. When used in conjunction with the Treble and Bass EQ knobs, this can really brighten or mellow an effect.
