Like Nothing Else Out There

The Steinberger Spirit XT-25 5-string electric bass guitar is for bassists searching for cutting-edge design, incredible stability, and unmistakable stage presence. The compact body and headless construction come from Steinberger's award-winning XL series. Together they strike one of the most identifiable images of all basses. The patented Steinberger fixed bass bridge uses the Double-ball tuning system to ensure stability. And the whole instrument only measures 38.5" long, making it an excellent traveler. Add a Steinberger Spirit XT-25 5-string electric bass to your collection when you're ready to step into the future.

Futuristic design

The construction of the Steinberger Spirit XT-25 5-string electric bass is derived from the company's award-winning XL series. The compact body and headless design are a favorite among many bassists, including bassists here at Sweetwater. Neck-through construction not only transfers string energy exceptionally well, but it helps make the bass incredibly stable. Steinberger even goes so far as to call it "practically indestructible." The lack of headstock and traditional tuning machines also do away with annoying neck dive.

Double-ball tuning and bridge

Tuning and stringing your Spirit XT-25 is done at the bridge. The direct-pull bridge is outfitted with 40:1 ratio machine heads for easy tuning access. Steinberger's patented fixed bass bridge accepts double-ball strings. This design has no winding around a tuner post, so you won't ever have to worry about the string slipping or stretching out of tune.

Travel friendly

The Spirit XT-25 5-string electric bass guitar may be the most travel-friendly electric bass guitar. The entire bass is under 39" long, even though it is a full scale length instrument. Its compact body dimensions and headless design help it fit easily into overhead compartments on planes, into crammed gear trailers, or on crowded stages.

Steinberger Spirit XT-25 5-string Bass Guitar Features:

  • 5-string electric bass guitar
  • Steinberger's award-winning compact body
  • Headless design avoids neck dive
  • Durable neck-through design
  • Fixed bass bridge with direct-pull tuners

Steinberg five string Bass guitar
What a flashback from the 70s in the 80s and they still make it into 2000s I like the style I like to feel and I like the power delivers thank you Sweetwater for always having what I need. You guys are awesome.

Incredible Bass Tone
For those who I see complaining about this bass, If you don't understand gain staging, how to set up your intonation, trust Rod and string height adjustment, tone knob controls and good technique, I suggest you go to a luthier to get this bass set up and get a good teacher. You won't regret it.
This is the bass.
This is the bass. It's hopefully the last bass I'll ever buy. It's fun to play and sounds great. It stays in tune. What more could one want from a bass?

Best Airline Travel Bass
Steinberger 5 String, best bass ever, to Fly to Gigs with, or airline travel with. Fits in the almost all overhead airplane luggage bins... so the Luggage Gorillas never get their shot to wreck your bass. Fits in small spaces; I can sit in an airport seat, during a long layover, and practice for hours, without whacking passerby's. Also great for small crowded stages. Make sure you buy several spare sets of double ball strings... they are hard to find, on the road, in a strange city. Playing-wise, it has a pretty good range of tones/sounds. With tone turned down I have played excellent thumb Reggae and Walking Blues. Bright tones good for feeding effects pedals. Strings are slightly closer together than most 5-strings... takes a little getting used to, but not hard... and that allows me to shred on this bass, faster than any Fender P or J Bass, I own. (I have slightly short fingers, so this is the easiest 5-string to play on, that I have found.)
Great solid all around performer for Metal, Rock, and modern music.
I have played and owned a number of basses, among other instruments, and this is the bass I use the most, period. Many players tend to value one or a few things about an instrument more than others, and sometimes it may not work with you. But I can honestly say without a doubt that this is a great general use bass for Metal, Rock and modern music. Despite being a full size and very solid built bass, it is SO EASY to carry and play, so compact, small and ergonomics feel so good that no other bass even comes close for me. And the stage presence of the bass is legendary. Clean, yet firm and very solid bass sound, and works wonderfully with external EQ, electronics, effects, etc. which for me is a must. The strings are Steinberger made specifically for this bass, and that goes even more for the low B string, which is made in a unique way for this bass. A regular B string will not fit in the hardware of this bass. So even though string options are not good, the Steinberger strings work well enough and get the job done. I use a short scale electric guitar case with it. The gig bag that comes with it is not good and I do not use it. Solid all around, general use performer. I have found Heaven with this bass.
