What materials are used in the Howard Core 1085VC Cello Bow and how do they affect its performance?

The 1085VC bow features a durable Brazilwood stick, valued for its good balance and responsiveness, which helps produce a clear and warm tone. The octagonal shape provides a comfortable grip and added stability. It's finished with a fully lined ebony frog, a wire grip, and unbleached horsehair, offering reliable functionality for consistent play and excellent tone.

What kind of sound can I expect from the Brazilwood stick of this cello bow?

The Brazilwood stick of the Howard Core 1085VC bow helps cellists achieve a clear, warm, and well-rounded tone. It offers a good balance of flexibility and stiffness, allowing for expressive playing while providing enough power to project. This makes it an excellent choice for students learning to articulate different musical dynamics and develop their sound.

How does the octagonal stick shape of this cello bow affect playability?

The octagonal stick shape of the Howard Core 1085VC bow provides a slightly firmer feel and enhanced stability compared to a round stick. This can be beneficial for developing players as it offers a more secure grip and helps with consistent bow control, making it easier to produce an even tone across the strings and improve bowing technique.
