Knilling: a century of making the finest string instruments
After emigrating from Vienna, Austria to St. Louis, Missouri, violinist Bernard Kornblum briefly made a humble living as a necktie salesman before establishing his own music business in 1922. Founded on his love and passion for the violin, Kornblum named his company after a well-known German luthier, Johannes Knilling. And for the past 100 years, Knilling string instruments have inspired players with their exceptional craftsmanship and radiant tone.
