A legacy of sound
Denon’s first direct-drive turntable — the DN-302F — debuted in 1970, becoming a staple among broadcast studios. The company’s DP-3000NE takes up the gauntlet of uncompromising performance with a 16-pole, 12-coil, brushless direct-drive motor, controlled by the state-of-the-art Space Vector PWM (pulse width modulation) system. The SV-PWM’s algorithm was constructed to manage the motor’s behavior, nearly eliminating any harmonics that would lead to fluctuations in torque or overheating. This means voltage and frequency output stay steady, no matter how long you listen, which rotational speeds are used, or the load of the record played. Furthermore, the DP-3000NE’s switch mode power supply (SMPS) integrates the power supply into the turntable’s chassis, eschewing external power configurations to further reduce distortion caused by vibrations within linear transformers.
