Travel anywhere with a thin, lightweight bass
Sweetwater recommends the Warwick RockBass Alien Deluxe Hybrid thinline to anyone scouring music stores for a great travel bass. With a body thinner and lighter than most acoustic basses, players can easily slip this bass in a gig bag and head out without breaking a sweat. They sound great at campfires, too! Without needing to plug in, you can forget worrying about cables and lugging around heavy bass amps. But when you do require sound with more bite, plug right into the Shadow electronics for rockin’ acoustic-electric punch.
Tonewoods shine with Warwick ingenuity
Upon first glance, your eyes will probably land on the unique soundhole design of the Warwick RockBass Alien Deluxe Hybrid thinline. This typifies classic Warwick engineering while enhancing the sound of this bass's tonewoods, in addition to adding a unique touch to every note you play. Speaking of tonewoods, this RockBass features an articulate spruce top that adds plenty of acoustic projection. The walnut back and sides offer a tight, bright top end with sublime warmth. A mahogany neck with a "C"-shaped profile feels comfortable no matter where you play; a wenge fingerboard creates an enjoyable fretting experience. Plus, you have a wide range of upper fret available to your reach, thanks to the RockBass’s cutaway.
Loving the Alien electronics
Turn up the volume and rock out with the Warwick RockBass Alien Deluxe; that’s what the electronics are there for! Under the fingerboard, you’ll find a hardworking Shadow Nanomagnetic pickup that captures both resonance in the body and harmonics from the strings. On the other hand, a Shadow piezo pickup at the bridge position works its magic by picking up vibrations through the resonating tonewoods as well as the strings. Furthermore, the Shadow preamp adds control over balance and pickup tone, and offers a phase switch. And of course, you get a built-in tuner, so tuning by the campfire or at a gig takes no time at all!
