Elevate your playing
The Thumb Bass incorporates several Warwick innovations to optimize your playing techniques — notice our use of the plural here. That’s because the playing feel and responsiveness of this incredible bass are ideal for 2-, 3-, or 4-finger plucking, slap-and-pop, flatpicking, old-school thumb-style — or any mix thereof. On the fretted models, the frets are leveled to a 100th of a millimeter and benefit from Warwick’s proprietary Invisible Fretwork Technology (IFT), which precludes the ends from protruding from the edge of the tigerstripe ebony fingerboard. Dedicated fretless players will appreciate that same silky-smooth fingerboard on the fretless models, unsullied by the presence of inlays. Add in other exclusive touches like ergonomically angled tuner keys and a Tedur Just-A-Nut that allows for effortless adjustment, and you have a formidable professional instrument that will go the distance in your career.

Formidable active electronics
A proper active German bass needs formidable German electronics. Hence, Warwick outfitted the Pro Series Thumb LE with the best: Bartolini MM humbucker and stacked-coil J-style pickups and preamplification from MEC. The pickups’ heavily shielded, humbucking designs deliver massive tone and drive long cable runs and complex processing chains without a hint of noise. Plus, the bypassable preamp includes a 3-band EQ that allows you to rapidly tweak your tone to perfection for any playing situation. With all that tone-shaping power under the hood, the Pro Series Thumb LE is ideal for session musicians and pro touring bassists who have to adapt to a wide range of musical settings quickly.
Warwick: high-performance basses for all players
In the 1970s and ’80s, the arrival of high-performance bass guitars from serious boutique luthiers gave accomplished electric bassists instruments that were capable of supporting their virtuosity when performing the demanding fusion music of the era. One such luthier was Hans-Peter Wilfer, who, at age 24, founded Warwick in 1982. Three years later, his company launched the Thumb Bass, which would go on to revolutionize the industry. Precision crafted in Germany, the Thumb Bass was designed to support all playing styles. Notably — as referenced in the instrument’s name — it was specifically optimized for slap-and-pop, which by then had become a popular technique. Flash forward several decades, and Warwick is still at the top of their game. The first carbon-neutral company in the music business, Warwick has placed environmental consciousness at the core of their operations, as they craft a full range of high-caliber basses for players of all levels. Sweetwater is proud to present to you Warwick’s exceptional lineup of innovative instruments.
