Mapex Armory
Mapex Armory Acoustic Drums
When it comes to modern music, you need a drum kit that can cut through and deliver a clear, articulate, and driving backbeat. That's exactly what you get with Mapex's Armory series drums. Mapex Armory Drum shells are designed to keep up with walls of guitar amps and dense live mixes. Mapex Armory drum kits feature a focused attack, tight dynamics, and clear resonance. These Mapex drum kits are just what you need for both recording and playing live.
Mapex Armory Drum Design
Mapex Armory series drums feature many of Mapex's finest technologies and innovations. Let's start off with the Mapex Armory toms and bass drums. These drum shells are constructed of both birch and maple. Unlike most drums that feature hybrid tonewoods, Mapex Armory drums sandwich their hand-selected maple cores between an inner and an outer layer of birch. Maple offers plenty of bite and delightfully responsive dynamics, whereas birch tempers the complex harmonics of the maple into a drier, more focused sound, with truly satisfying midrange punch. It's simply ideal for close drum miking!
Mapex Armory SONIClear Bearing Edges
Another amazing thing about Mapex Armory drums are their SONIClear bearing edges. SONIClear bearing edges let each drumhead sit perfectly flat along the topmost ridge of the drum shell, yet they're steep enough to allow the drum heads to resonate freely. This gives Armory drums an impressively powerful fundamental. More importantly, it allows you to tune your drumheads to a much wider than normal range, allowing you to craft the overall tone of your drum kit. This is even more apparent when you add in SONIClear tom suspension mounts, which allow your toms to breathe and resonate freely.
Mapex Armory Drum Styles
The Mapex Armory drum series goes far beyond shell packs. There's also a selection of excellent Armory snare drums available. These snare drums include both steel and wood models, offering a wide range of timbres to suit both you’re playing style and musical genre. Each Armory series snare drum features Mapex's 2.3mm Power Hoops, which are known of delivering meaty attack. That's a perfect complement for the stainless-steel snare wires, which add plenty of snap and clear articulation to the sound. And many of the drummers here at Sweetwater love the vertical throw off, which is ideal if you want to disengage the snares at a moment’s notice.
Mapex Armory Drum Hardware
Finally, there's an entire line of Mapex Armory drum hardware. Available as individual pieces or in affordable packages, this drum hardware is the kind you'll have for life. These drum stands are heroically tough and dependable, with reinforcements throughout. The legs are double braces, the tubing is heavy duty, and the rubber feet plant firmly in place. At the same time, Maped Armory drum hardware and stands are light enough to gig with, and it all folds down neatly for transportation. What's more, it's all covered by Mapex's amazing 5-year warranty.
