Latin Percussion founder Martin Cohen developed a passion for the Latin music that swept New York in the 1960s. Though, when he discovered how difficult it was to find quality instruments in the U.S., he set out to build his own - crafting everything from bongos to cowbells to woodblocks to claves to congas to the cabasa. Soon, his hand-crafted — and sometimes reinvented — instruments were adopted by nearly all of the big-name Latin performers throughout the following decades. And today, you'll still find that same commitment to authentic sound — blended with strong modern design — from Latin Percussion.
