Windows 2000 installation for the M-Audio MobilePre USB

Make sure the MobilePre USB is NOT connected to the computer and no application is open before beginning the installation!

1) Insert the M-Audio Driver CD into your CD ROM drive.

2) Double-click “My Computer” on your Desktop.

3) Double-click the CD ROM Icon (M Audio Drivers) and navigate to the “USB Audio \ MobilePre” folder.

4) Double-click “MobilePre_1xxx_CD.exe” to run the M-Audio MobilePre Setup program.

5) This wizard will guide you through the installation process. CAREFULLY READ the displayed instructions – click the “Next” button for each screen once you have read and understood the instructions.

6) (*) A screen titled “Digital Signature not found” will be displayed at various points during this installation. Click “Yes” every time this screen pops up (More information about this at the end of this guide).

7) Select if you want to “Enable digital CD audio for CD/DVD drives” and “Enable DMA transfer mode for CD/DVD drives”. These settings are necessary if you want play Audio CDs from your computer’s CD-ROM drive using the MobilePre USB. Then click “Next”.

8) When prompted, connect the MobilePre to the USB port of your computer.

9) Windows will recognize the MobilePre USB and automatically copy the driver files to the right locations.

10) Once the copying process is done, you will be brought back to the “M-Audio MobilePre Installed Successfully” screen. Click “Next”.

11) Unless you chose to modify the settings for your CD-ROM/DVD drive in Step 7 of this guide, you can now press “Finish” and are ready to use the MobilePre USB. If you did modify the settings, you will be asked to restart the computer. Click “Finish” and your computer will restart automatically.

(*) The “Digital Signature Not Found” message is nothing you need to be worried about. We wrote the drivers specifically for Windows 2000 and they will work just fine with your system. The message basically just means that Microsoft (Windows) did not yet test the drivers by themselves.
