What is the best preset going from my main outs on my mixer through the BlueMax and into a PA amp?

The best pre-set for you depends on the dynamic range of your performance. If the transients of the performed portion of the mix are more or less the same as the pre-recorded portion, then Stereo 2 would probably give you your best result. If you normally find that the performed portion of your performance exceeds the pre-recorded portion by a good bit, then one of the vocal pre-sets that tends to smooth out the level would be most appropriate. Vocal1 will have the least dynamic control and Vocal 3 will restrict the dynamics the most. I would think your best approach would be to try and place your voice and instrument “in” the mix. This will give your performance the most polished sound. However, most “live” performances tend to have the vocal in front of (read:louder) the mix. You should be aware that, while the BlueMAX won’t mix your performance, it will go a very long way toward helping you to maintain a coherent “front of house” blend without actually manning the faders. A less sophisticated approach that will afford you absolute speaker protection and retain musicality while doing so, is Stereo 2 – Brick wall Limiter. This pre-set will protect everything downstream from the BlueMAX and retain a pleasing sound even when the limiter is slammed. I do think a pre-set is the way for you to go, however a “best” pre-set will greatly depend on, as I have pointed out, just what it is you are after
