I would like to upgrade my M480L to incorporate AES digital input and output. What should I do?
There is an optional board that can be put into the empty slot of the 480L mainframe to add AES I/O. If your 480L was manufactured before January 1, 1997, it will need some modifications to accommodate the M480L AES board. The AES board includes retrofit instructions so that it be installed in the field by qualified service personnel.
Lexicon recommends that this upgrade be performed at the factory for units in North America and by the Lexicon Distributor in other countries. We may also be able to provide names of local area service centers that have demonstrated reasonable technical expertise with Lexicon products. (They are not officially endorsed as authorized service centers, only the Factory and Lexicon Distributors are.)
The retrofit requires V4 Software and a compatible revision HOST Board.
