Unity DS-1 setup & optimization tips for Macintosh.
1. Install the Unity DS-1 Software.
2. Download and install the latest Version.

3. Configure your system for optimum performance.
– Turn off Virtual Memory, Ram Doubler, and similar utilities.Disable Virtual Memory in the Memory control panel. This step is CRITICAL for fast ‘live play’ response time. The Mac OS default is VM ‘on.’
– De-install all debuggers (like Conflict Catcher, Norton Utilities) and reboot before launching Unity DS-1. Like other high-end music software, Unity DS-1 will not run when MacsBug or other debuggers are installed.
– Turn off AppleTalk. Disable AppleTalk in the Chooser, accessed from the Apple menu.
Make sure the Sound Manager sample rate setting matches the sample rate setting in the Unity DS-1 control panel. Use the Sound or Monitors & Sound control panel to set the Sound Manager sample rate. See the Mac Setup document for more information.
– Make sure the Sound Manager sound output level is at maximum.The alert volume can be less than maximum. Use the Sound or Monitors & Sound control panel to set the Sound Manager sound output level. See the Mac Setup document for more information.
