How do I setup my “Sampletank” as an MAS plugin?
1. System requirements:
SampleTank MAS requires MOTU Audio System 2.33 and Digital Performer 3.01. Any hardware setup that is correctly running Digital Performer 3.01 will do fine for SampleTank. A low latency audio card is needed for near real-time performance in playing SampleTank live from the midi input; for this reason ASIO drivers or
Direct I/O (for digi users) are suggested.
2. Installation:
SampleTank MAS is a plug-in. It comes with an automated installer that places the plug-in and all the
instruments on the hard disk. The plug-in is named “SampleTank” and will placed in the folder:
System folder : Extensions : MOTU : Plug-ins
3) Placement:
By default, all the instruments will be placed in the ‘IK Multimedia’ folder created in the root folder of the
system disk. Custom folder selection for the instruments is possible selecting “select folder” during the
installation procedure.
Remember to check if the SampleTank plug-in is in the correct folder after installation.
Now you can run Digital Performer and create a new song.
SampleTank is a real-time audio synthetizer and as such must be opened in one insert of a Digital Performer
Audio Channel. The channel can be both mono or stereo; a mono channel will be converted to stereo.
4) Usage:
Now SampleTank is opened on the audio channel. To feed midi data to this instrument go to the “tracks”
window and add a midi track, then select “SampleTank” as output:
As an example Let’s select SampleTank’s midi channel #1.
This means that SampleTank is 16 parts multitimbral in DP.
As the midi track is ready for recording, the Midi data are already being received by SampleTank.
5) Outputs:
SampleTank has 8 individual outputs (4 stereo). The first two outputs are fed directly on the channel where
ST is inserted, while the other 6 outputs are routed to auxiliary buses.
