I’ve set up my MidiMan USB Keyboard, and OMS Test Studio works fine. But my Sequencing application doesn’t get MIDI input.

We discovered this problem in handful of applications that use OMS, including Finale, ProTools and Reason. We’ve also experienced this problem with other keyboards that use USB, like the Korg Triton, and the Yamaha Motif.

The problem was caused by the fact that the USB Keyboard “port” and the “keyboard” connected to that port had the same name – usually “Keyboard1”. The sequencer application has problems distinguishing between two OMS devices with the same name (You may notice that TWO “Keyboard1” show up as input devices in your host application).
The solution is to double click the keyboard icon in OMS, and change its name to anything BUT “Keyboard1” … something like “Controller” or “USB Keyboard”. Save OMS, and you’ll find that your sequencer now sees the keyboard with your customized name.

Also be sure that OMS’ MIDI Device Specification for the keyboard has ONLY “Controller” Checked ON, and that no other boxes are checked (Multitimbral, MMC, MTC, etc… should all be OFF)
