When I select a PATCH on a MIDI track in (Digital) Performer, the patch change is sent only once, and the change isn’t saved the next time the song is opened.
Always use “Default Patch” instead of “Patch”.
Using Default Patch selects the midi sound that the track will always begin with. When a sequence is started from the beginning, Default Patch sends a patch message to the assigned MIDI device. Default Patch is also saved with the Project, so when the song is opened again, the MIDI device will play the same sound as before.
Using “Patch” only sends the message ONCE. It is not saved with the Project, and does not send a patch message at the beginning of the song.
