S760 and connections with External SCSI Equipment
“SCSI” stands for Small Computer Serial Interface, which is the type of interface that the S-760 uses to interact with external storage devices, such as hard drives and CD-ROM players. Since digital samples can quickly fill-up a standard floppy disk, digital samplers need to take advantage of large storage devices to speed-up retrieval of sounds and to help organize the sounds in a sample library. You can use floppy disks as well. However, you’ll find it tedious to use save a 16MB Performance on multiple floppy disks. Software Version 2.0 allows you to save sound parameters onto a floppy disk without having to save the actual samples (See Volume Dump to FD).
