How do I select a patch on the Roland XP30?
- In the MODE section press the [PATCH] button.

- Press the [CATEGORY] button so that it lights.
- Press one of the [NUMERIC CATEGORY] buttons [0] – [9] to select the category you would like.
- Use the [INC] [DEC] buttons or the [VALUE] dial to select a Patch that is in the category you have chosen.

What are Roland XP30 Performances and how do I select them?
There are two types of Performances on the Roland XP30, Layer Performances and Single Performances. The upper right side of the display will indicate what type of performance it is. (“LAYER” for Layer performances and “PART” for Single performances).
A Layer performance allows you to play two or more parts simultaneously on the keyboard for fat, rich sounds or splits. Select Single performances for playing songs using two or more parts. To select Performances follow this procedure:
- Press the [PERFORM] button.
- Use the [INC] [DEC] buttons or the [VALUE] dial to select a new Performance.
- If the performance is a Single performance, use the Part select buttons [1 / 9] – [8 / 16] to play the different parts of the performance.
- To toggle between Parts 1-8 and 9-16 use the [1-8 / 9-16] button.
How many arpeggiator styles are there on the XP30, and how do I change them?
There are 43 different Arpeggiator styles on the Roland XP30. To select a different style follow this procedure:
- Hold down the [Arpeggiator] button.
- Use the [<] [>] buttons to move the cursor underneath “STYLE”.
- Use the [INC] [DEC] buttons or the [VALUE] dial to select a new style.
