Why does the RME Hammerfall DSP mixer show a mono signal on two channels at high sample rates of 88.2k and 96k?

The HDSP Totalmix mixer does not switch its inputs to reflect the changes in the Adat lightpipe protocol at 88.1kHz and 96kHz. Because Adat Lightpipe works at a maximum of 48kHz, the SMUX protocol for combining two channels into one came about to achieve these higher sample rates. So Input 1 is combined into channels 1&2 in the DSP mixer, Input 2 is combined into channels 3&4, and so on. You’ll need to switch the outputs in the middle column to go to outputs 1, 3, 5, etc.
