Polyphony settings and CPU usage?

In Pro Tools, the “System Usage” window continuously shows the session’s
load on the Computer and DSP chips on the Pro Tools cards.
Here we are particularly interested in the bar named “CPU”, that shows the
amount of calculations that the processor of the machine must perform.
Always refer to this very useful meter to get an idea of how much
SampleTank is loading the CPU of the computer.
The value of polyphony is used to regulate how many notes
SampleTank is allowed to playback. In order to limit CPU usage,
SampleTank can not playback more notes; when the limit is exceeded the
older notes are cut.
If you experience computer halts, jittering or Pro Tools messages telling that
the CPU load is too high, lower this value so that SampleTank will be forced
to play less notes.
Of course turning off FX from the SampleTank instruments helps as well.
