How do I play the Reason modules through DP3?
FreeMIDI’s preference “Use OMS When Available” must be checked ON. If it’s not on, turn it on (FILE menu in FreeMIDI) and restart the computer.
Assuming that you have FREEmidi and OMS configured properly…
1) launch OMS, there you will find the “IACbuss”
2) doubleclick the ICON and it brings you a box that offers you to name 4 separate busses
3) type in each of those slots REASON ONE< REASON TWO , etc.. and save that info
4) Launch DP3
5) create an AUX track on your SEQ-1 screen
6) click and hold in the input section and choose the NEW STEREO BUNDLE > REASON L-1/R-2 input
7) go to the output section and choose the output device of your choice
8) go to your MINI menu and enable Multirecord
9) go to the input of TRACK 1 and choose channel 1 of your current midi input device
10) go to the ouput of TRACK 1 and choose REASON ONE as your output
***NOTE – make sure that you have AUDIO PATCH THRU checked***
Now Launch REASON…
1) go to EDIT > Prefrences
2) you will see the PAGE function there and GENERAL will be choosen – go to the arrows beside it and choose MIDI
3) it will say PORT – please choose REASON ONE as your port and a green check mark will appear
4) Go back to where it says MIDI and choose ADVANCED MIDI
5) it will show you 4 busses and a MISC section. For BUSS A – choose Reason ONE, FOR BUSS B – choose REASON TWO and etc…
6) on the MISC section choose REASON ONE.. then close your prefs..
Choose your module at this time…
then toggle back to DP3 and record enable TRACK1 and begin playing….
