Patch number in event list or in default patch is offset by one . Numbering schemes (1-128 vs 0-127) and Patch assign/numbers in Digital Performer / Patchlist manager
Example: When selecting patches for my keyboard, the event list patch change is 1 digit off (eg: select 80, event list = 81) …
It sounds like somehow he wound up with patchlists that are using a one-based numbering scheme instead of a zero-based numbering scheme. Here’s the quickest way to fix that:
1. Open FreeMIDI Setup.
2. Delete the problem device/keyboard.
3. Re-create it in your FreeMIDIsetup.
4. Save.
This basically re-establishes contact between the FreeMIDI Device and its default patchlist (which determines whether to use a one-based or a zero-based format).
If this does not work, you may need to modify the numbering format in Patch List Manager.
Each midi device’s patchlist should be visible in Patchlist Manager’s “patch list” window. When you click on the patch list’s “Length” number, you will get a “numbering format” dialog. You change change the numbering scheme from “one-based” to “zero-based”
(or “roland’).
