Over the course of saving several of my own customized banks/instruments using the SampleCell Editor, space on my hard drivehas needlessly been taken up by duplicates of the samples that are in the original banks/instruments. How can I prevent this from happening?
When you make a new bank/instrument that uses samples that already reside on your hard drive, you do not need to re-save the samples. When you save the bank and you get a dialog box asking whether you want to “Save all samples that intruments in the bank ‘My New Bank’ reference to a new location?” click on “Don’t Save.” The exception to this would be if the samples themselves have been edited using the loop editor; in this case you would want to save the changed samples.
