Mackie HUI self test shows bad midi or serial ports.
If you do the self diagnostic on the HUI, it will tell you that you have a bad midi port unless you take a cable from the MIDI OUT of the HUI directly into the HUI’s MIDI IN port. The HUI tests midi by means of a “loop” from it’s own midi IN to OUT.
A similar message will appear if the RS323/RS422 serial ports, keyboard or mouse ports are unused. You can disregard those failure messages if you are not using those ports.
