M20 Track Skip Errors
If you have an Alesis M20 that is getting a “Track Skip Timeout Error” when chasing other ADAT’s you probably have SRAM (static RAM) corruption. This can happen after a new software rev has been installed, but the symptom only shows up when the machine is chasing another machine. Quite a few users have observed this recently since a new software version just came out. The solution is to initiate a hard reset by powering up the M20 while holding down the Record and Play buttons simultaneously. If you continue to get the error after this it may mean you have a problem with your transport motor or its servo PC board, either of which requires a trip to a service center.
