Original, XT and XT20’s:
Set locate & ff —Check software version
Set locate & stop– Check head hours
Set locate & input 3 to Check errors
Record and Play (while powering up) —-Initialize
Ship mode.
First initialize
then, hold input 1 and 7 (while powering up) for testmode
first item is ship mode
press play to activate ship mode. Also note: DO NOT go any farther than ship mode in the test mode to avoid altering the service adjustments that require a Alesis trained tech to re-calibrate. SHIP MODE is a “valuable” condition to be in for shipping to keep certain parts from popping loose and possibly causing serious damage to the machine!!
LX20: Difference is only hold “input 7” (while power up) for test mode and hold only “record” (while power up) for initialization. -Owners book is wrong, ask customer to notate this to avoid future confusion.
M20 : Initialize by pressing “Record and Play” at power up. Display will show “INITIALIZING”. Press “peak clear” and “stop” for headhours. Software and head error rate is in the utility file. Their position is near #20-25 in the scroll, depending on the software.
