Korg MPS-10 Setup and Connections

The Korg MPS-10 has many connections, making it an integral part of your setup. From audio functions to digital applications, the possibilities are endless. Let’s cover essential tips to get you up and running.

  • You can connect any external drum pad to the TRIGGER IN jacks. You can separate the channels using a TRS splitter cable and connect two single-zone pads.
  • The SUB OUT jacks only output audio routed to the sub out. Any audio signal sent to the SUB OUT jack will not be sent to the main out.
  • If your headphone output seems quieter than usual, it is likely because you use headphones with 80-ohm impedance or more.
  • You cannot use the LINE IN and MIC IN jacks simultaneously.
  • Connect any footswitch to the FOOT SW 1 or jack to assign various functions, such as start, stop, and looper triggering.
  • Power the MPS-10 off and turn the volume all the way down before connecting the speakers.
  • You can use USB flash drives with up to 2TB of capacity. Anything above that, and the drive will not be read correctly.

Calibrating the Expression Pedal

If you plan on using an expression pedal with your MPS-10, you must first calibrate it so it works correctly.

  1. Press the Utility button, then navigate to and select Function Assign.
  2. Choose Foot SW & Pedal … to enter the Footswitch/pedal edit menu.
  3. Press the Metronome button, push the pedal all the way down, and press the Enter button.
  4. Push the pedal down with your heel (so the toe is pointing all the way up), then press the Enter button.

  2. Select PAD Function, use the encoder to highlight the function you wish to assign, and press the encoder to select it.
  3. Use the encoder to select the pad (TRG A, B, C, D), then press it to assign the pad.

Computer

The Korg MPS-10 is class-compliant (meaning no additional drivers are necessary), so you just need to connect it to your computer, and you’re good to go! Korg has created an online editor that allows you to do almost everything without navigating through menus on the unit itself.

During the last month(s) of the promo period the required monthly payment may be reduced due to the prior months’ rounding. Regular account terms apply to non-promo purchases. Regular account terms apply to non-promo purchases and, after promo period ends, to the promo balance. New Accounts as of 07/31/2025: Purchase APR is 34.99%. Penalty APR is 39.99%. The estimated required monthly payment shown which excludes taxes and delivery equals the amount financed divided by the number of months in the promo period, rounded up to the next cent. During the last month(s) of the promo period the required monthly payment may be reduced due to this rounding. These payments apply only with the financing offer shown. If you make these payments by the due date each month, you should pay off this amount financed within the promo period, if it is the only balance you are paying off. If you have other balances on your account, this payment will be added to any other minimum monthly payments.
