Incompatiblies with Iomega Drives and Ensoniq ASR-10
Question from inSync reader ZZ: “I’m having a hard time with my Iomega Jaz (external). It doesn’t work with my sampler, an Ensoniq ASR-10. After the formatting procedure, a File Error message appears, and when trying to save anything the message “BAD FAT SIGNATURE” appears… Is there some way to fix this and make these devices work together, for sample storing and digital audio recording?” Thanks for the question ZZ! Unfortunately, we don’t have good news for you. Our Service Department has found that both Iomega Jaz and Zip drives are incompatible with the Ensoniq ASR-10. Sorry – the best solution at this point is to use a regular, fixed SCSI hard drive for ASR-10 sample storage and audio recording…
