How to Update the Firmware on an Elektron Model:Cycles
In this guide, we will show you how to use the Elektron Transfer software to update the firmware on your Elektron Model:Cycles. The entire process is really quick, but be sure not to turn off the device any time during the process. Follow the instructions below to get started.
Elektron Model:Cycles firmware update
Updating the firmware on your Elektron requires transferring a SysEx file from your computer to the hardware using the Elektron Transfer app. You’ll first need to download the Transfer app, then connect the device to your computer.
- Go to the Models:Cycles support page and download the latest OS file and the Transfer app.
- Navigate to your Downloads folder, launch the Transfer installer, and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Connect your device to a USB port on your computer, turn it on, then launch the Transfer app.
- Set the Model:Cycle as the MIDI In and MIDI Out device, then click Connect.
- Open the folder where you download the OS file to, then drag and drop it anywhere in the Drop files here area.
- When you receive the Update OS Now prompt, press the data encoder knob to complete the process.
