How do I upgrade the firmware on my Zoom Q4?
To upgrade the firmware on your Zoom Q4, follow the instructions below:
- First, click here to find the latest firmware update for your Q4. Download the file to your desktop.
- Insert the SD card for your Q4 into an SD card reader or use your Q4 in card reader mode (see pg. 22 in the manual) to connect it to your computer.
- Place the file you downloaded in step 1 on the root of the SD card (not in any other folder).
- Safely eject the SD card from your computer and place it back in your Q4.
- Hold the Record button while powering on your Q4 to boot it in Firmware Update mode.
- You will be asked if you want to update the firmware. Click Yes using the navigation buttons.
- When the update is complete, simply turn the Q4 off and turn it back on.
Note: the Q4 will not update the firmware if the battery is low.
