How do I update the firmware on my MOTU AVB Switch?
Check out the following article from MOTU’s knowledge base to learn how to update the firmware on your MOTU AVB Switch.
Updating the firmware for a MOTU AVB Switch
- Make sure your computer is on the same network as the MOTU AVB Switch (through a network connection, as opposed to USB or Thunderbolt).
- Access the switch directly from AVB Discovery app (for Mac users only), or type “avbswitch.local./” into any web browser on the same network as the switch (for Mac and Windows users).
- You should now see the configuration page for the switch.
- Click “Update Firmware” and follow the on-screen instructions.
You can either update to the latest firmware file on MOTU’s firmware server, or you can manually upload a specific version of firmware file obtained from the firmware change log.
If you have more than one switch
On Mac OS X, each switch can be accessed individually from the AVB Discovery app. You can use the “Identify” button from within each switch’s configuration page to confirm which switch you are configuring. When you click “identify”, the switch LEDs flash.
On Windows, unplug the power cord for all switches to turn them off. Then, update them one at a time by powering up each one by itself and updating it.
