How do I update the firmware on my Moog Minitaur on a PC?
***Please back up your presets before updating the firmware on your Moog Minitaur. The firmware update process will delete all data on your Minitaur.
First, click here to download the latest firmware for the Minitaur. Be sure to choose the download that matches your operating system.
Once you’ve downloaded the folder, be sure to extract it by right-clicking and choosing Extract all.
To update the firmware, follow the instructions below:
- Power up the Minitaur while holding down the VCO 1 and 2 waveform switches. Keep them pressed down.
- While still holding the VCO 1 and 2 switches, press the Release switch. You can now release all three switches. The Glide switch should be blinking slowly.
- Connect the Minitaur to your PC with a USB cable. Wait a moment for it to connect to the computer.
- Double-click the file “MINITAUR_ERASE_FW.exe” in the folder that you downloaded and extracted earlier.
- Type the corresponding number to select the Minitaur as the device and press Enter. On the Minitaur, you should see the Glide switch trn off, the MIDI light flash, and the VCO 1 switch LED blink several times while the system file is erased. Press Enter to escape sxio.exe when finished.
- When the erasing is done, the Glide switch will start blinking slowly again.
- Now double-click “Minitaur_Firmware_v2_1_0.exe.”
- Type the corresponding number to select the Minitaur as the device and press Enter.
- When the process is done, the Minitaur will reboot itself with updated functionality. Press Enter to escape sxio.exe.
