I hear a low noise like a hum when I open ProTools and turn up the output of my MBox or Mbox2
In one situation, the person had his Protools System plugged into a different AC service recepticle than his mixer, preamp and powered monitors. When he plugged all into the same service the ground loop went away… no more hum.
(Note, he didn’t “Lift” the ground, all 3 prong plugs were still plugged into 3 prong outlets, he simply used an additional power strip to consolidate all AC to one service.
