How do I hard reset (factory initialize) the Lexicon MPX 550?
WARNING: This procedure will destroy any user settings or registers.
Enter System Mode, Press the System button on the front panel. The System button LED will light to indicate that you are in System Mode.
Use the Edit 1 knob to select the Factory Init parameter. Selecting this parameter will arm a reinitialization procedure that will restore all of the adjustable parameters to their factory defaults. This includes User programs, System parameters and Learned patches.
Press Store to execute the procedure.
The Initialization procedure can also be accessed from diagnostic mode. To enter the Extended Diagnostics, power on the unit while pressing down & holding the BYPASS button on the front panel of the MPX 500. When the EDIT LED is lit, the BYPASS button can be released. After it is released, the EDIT LED will go out and the LCD Display will indicate the test number and it name. The Binary testcode will be displayed on the front panel (Bypass, Store, and Tap LEDs). Turn the PROGRAM knob to select test #13 Initialize Test: This test will initialize all of the MPX 500 system parameters to their factory default settings. Pressing the BANK button (PROGRAM knob) will execute the test.
