How to Burn Data and Audio CD’s with Toast 5.x
1. Launch Toast (the name of your burner mechanism should be at the bottom of the screen) This is how you know your Burner is recognized by Toast.
2. Select Format (Data , Audio , Copy ,Other)
3A.If burning a DATA Backup CD , press the big “DATA” button.
Press the “New CD” button.Double click on the CD icon that appears and Name your new CD.Now click on the “Add” button and navigate and add all of the files and/or folders you want! You can also just “Drag and Drop” Files and Folders into the big Toast window to add to your CD as well. Just remember not to exceed the size limit of your CDR..(650-700Megs) Proceed to step 4!
3B.If burning a AUDIO CD press the big “Audio” button.
Now click on the “Add” button and navigate and add all of the Stereo Interleaved , 16 Bit Audio files you want! You can also just “Drag and Drop” Audio files into the big Toast window to add to your CD as well.Just remember not to exceed the size limit of your CDR..(650-700Megs) Proceed to step 4!
4.Now Press the Big “Record” button.
5.The tray to your CD burner will eject.
6. Place a CDR into your burner and close the door.
7. There will be a slight pause…
8A. For DATA backup CD’s I would choose “write session”. This alows you to come back and “ADD” to the CDR untill you use up all of the space on the CDR.If you choose “write disc” you will NOT be able to add to the CDR even if there is space left…goto step 9
8B. For AUDIO CD’s you can only “write disc” because of the nature of the format. The CD has to have a lead in and lead out info on it which prohibits it from being added to. goto step 9
9.The disk will start to write , grab some coffee..and relax your CD will be ready soon…
