-5000 error when trying to use iLok authorized plugin
A -5000 error is an Apple OS X permissions issue.
You may not have sufficient privileges to run the application.
In OSX, Apple introduced support for mulitple users and with that came permissions or access privileges to determine which users have read/write, read only, or no access privileges.
Over time, especially after installing software, those settings can become garbled.
Disk Utility, included in the OS, can remedy broken disk permissions and can be found
under Macintosh HD/Applications/Utilities.
After launching, follow the instructions for “Repairing Disk Permissions”
and then reboot your computer.
