2408 Cable Length
Pop quiz: In the MOTU 2408 what is the maximum cable length between the PCI324 card and the 2408 audio interface box?The 2408 manual says 30 ft and it is wrong. Per MOTU the correct maximum length is 15 feet, which is the length of the cable that ships with the 2408. Also, because they use a Firewire style connection between the card and the interface many people have inferred that it is a Firewire based system, and thus works accordingly (long cable lengths, hot swappable, etc). The data protocol in the 2408 system is actually not Firewire.
