Studio Sound for the Stage!

In the studio, it's easy to make your guitar sound good. Run your signal through a good compressor, and it magically sounds... better. Joemeek is famous for their optical compression, a tool often found in pro studios. With the floorQ compressor pedal, you get the same stellar optical compression Joemeek's rack gear is renowned for, but in a footpedal-sized format. It's not just a close facsimile to the original circuit, it is the same circuit. The floorQ also makes a great front end/level matcher for any guitar amp (especially a tube amp!). A studio-quality compressor for your pedalboard? That's exactly what you get from the Joemeek floorQ!

Joemeek floorQ Optical Compressor Pedal Features at a Glance:
  • Same compressor circuit as the threeQ, in a pedal
  • High-impedance JFET input
  • Class A preamplifier with input-level control
  • Even with the compressor switched out, the pedal makes an excellent front end and level matcher for all types of guitar amps
World-class compression in a stompbox: the Joemeek floorQ!

great addition to your pedalboard

I have had this pedal for several months now and just love the flexibility. It can go from very transparent and sweet...leveling nicely and adding nothing all the way to very apparent adding infinite sustain and a little pick attack. This little guy has way better sounding opto comp than what I expected from a relatively inexpensive pedal. As with any compressor if you add too much "effect" with it you will raise your noise floor but even with a studio full of gear, this has become my comp o' choice for guitar... I sometimes use it on bass tracks too on the front end.

Adds life to the dullest signals

Beautiful sounding compressor! Very transparent and great headroom at 12V. Adds life to the dullest signals. Highly recommended for a rackmountable alternative.

Sweetwater Advice

Nick LaMendola

Admittedly it took me a while to figure out how to use this compressor. The controls are apparently labeled by and for the British consumer, but once I realized that "slope" meant ratio and "compress" meant threshold, I was loving this box. At any setting, no matter how hard I drove it, the pedal improved my guitar's response. It made me want to tear at the strings just to feel the warmth of the opto compression squeezing my signal into fantastic shapes. I really fell in love with the sound of this unit, especially for clean tones on the neck pickup of my Strat - I gave it all I had and it kept up with my playing. The rugged construction and variable input power section (9-18V AC or DC) make it a no brainer for your pedalboard. Buy this today!
