Configure the VM-PRO to work with your rig

Most volume pedals are simple, one-trick ponies, not the Mission Engineering VM-PRO volume pedal. This rugged pedal is tweakable to work with any rig. The input jack features an internal selector that lets you set the VM-PRO to work with passive or active pickups, this is perfect for electric guitars, basses, and acoustic-electric instruments. You'll never have to deal with signal loss or the dreaded "tone suck," thanks to the built-in buffer circuitry/line driver. This is perfect for long cable runs and large pedalboards. You can also configure the impedance of the output jack to better work with your vintage pedals. Call your Sweetwater Sales Engineer and find out what the Mission Engineering VM-PRO volume pedal can do for your rig.

Dedicated tuner output

The Mission Engineering VM-PRO gives you a dedicated and completely isolated tuner output via the TRS output jack. Tuners are notorious for coloring you tone, and not in a good way. The VM-Pro totally isolates the tuner from your rig keeping your tone pure.

Rugged construction and flexible power options

With all-metal construction and a durable powder coating, the Mission Engineering VM-PRO is ready for the abuse of the road. A flexible power circuit lets you use a 9V battery or any power supply from 9V to 18V. One bonus of using a higher voltage power supply is that it increases the headroom of the Mission Engineering VM-PRO, which is useful for high-level inputs.

Mission Engineering VM-PRO Volume Pedal Features:
  • Flexible volume pedal for any musician's rig
  • Internal controls let you adjust input jack for active or passive pickup, output impedance, and Sparkle switch to restore high end on long cable runs
  • TRS output jack feeds pedalboard and tuner through isolated signal paths
  • Pro-quality buffer/line driver for long signal runs
  • Durable, road-ready construction
Start your signal chain off right with the Mission Engineering VM-PRO volume pedal!

A volume pedal for guitar has to be powered or substantial clarity in tone will be lost. This is the best make I've used. Not crazy about the location of the 9v in....

Quality Volume Pedal That Does the Job

I was looking for a volume pedal that I could put in my amp FX loop before my time-based effects. I needed it for doing swells and also for the ability to use it as a master volume for my amp so I can play at night with full gain. I have a friend that had this one and liked it, so I gave it a try. Another reason I picked this one over some others was the ability to plug it into an 18V slot on my power supply. After using it now for a couple months, I definitely think it is great. It is solid as a tank. I switched on the high end sparkle setting, as that really brought out the presence when playing quietly at night. It is quiet and doesn't affect my tone. In fact, with the buffer, it actually seemed to improve my tone a bit. I love how it stays in place where you leave it, so it's easy to set it on a level and leave it. I know some guys that are used to a pedal like the Ernie Ball VP Jr don't like the smaller sweep. Luckily, this was my first volume pedal, so I wasn't accustomed to a larger sweep. I think it could be adjusted to, even if someone was used to a different sweep. The main thing is that the sweep is consistent. I don't notice any large jump at the beginning or end of the sweep, so it's only the total size of the sweep that one must get acclimated to.

I'm impressed

This is the best volume pedal I have ever used, and I've used all of them. First off, the pedal has that familiar feel, because it's the same form factor as a Cry Baby. The Buffer and Sparkle Switches a huge pluses. As everyone knows, normally when you back of your volume, you lose the high's...not with the sparkle switch engaged. I have a certain pedal that is true bypass , and is a tone sucker, but with this pedal's buffer engaged, that's no longer a problem. I totally recommend this pedal. If I could give it 10 Stars I would.

Awesome Volume Pedal

All metal construction!! I could tell from the substantial feel of this pedal that it is tough and road worthy!! The feel of this pedal and control is smooth and true. Swells are super easy and you will be able to trust that the pedal will "stay put" until you get ready to make a change!! I run 10 to 12 pedals, 5 are true bypass. The buffer keeps the tone regardless of length of cables and pedal configuration. Yes, it is more expensive. But you get what you pay for with this pedal. I love it!!

Mission Engineering Marvel

I'm not a huge fan of volume pedals because they have always seemed to take away the sparkle and shimmer from my guitars: however, this pedal is simply superb. It offers superior volume control on my pedal-board without any sort of tone loss. If you are looking for a ready to rock out of the box pedal that requires no modifications to make it meet your needs, then as far as volume pedals go, you simply cannot beat this one.
