HDDA mic preamps capture detailed nuances

The Tascam US-2x2 employs a High Definition Discrete Architecture (HDDA) mic preamp design that delivers pristine audio with extremely low self noise to capture every detail of your musical performances. Featuring two of these microphone preamplifiers, the US-2x2 is ideal for solo singer-songwriters and small ensembles or use the phantom power to use condensers as room mics for recording a live jam session. Each channel also features an XLR/TRS combo jack, so you can easily track instruments alongside your microphones. And there are mic/line/instrument level switches on the front-panel for recording a guitar or bass direct.

Built with mobile recording in mind

With a sleek angled design, the US-2x2 keeps your levels in sight and offers easy access to gain and volume controls. The tough all-metal housing and reinforced ends make this interface rugged enough to withstand hotel room recording sessions on the road. Small enough to fit in your laptop bag, but powerful enough to trust with your next masterpiece.

Includes DAW software options

The US-2x2 comes with Cakewalk's SONAR X3 LE and Ableton Live Lite 9. A feature-rich recording software for musicians using PC-based recording, SONAR X3 LE provides a cutting-edge music production studio, giving users what they need to get started creating music on Windows PCs. Ableton Live Lite 9 puts the power of on-the-fly recording, mixing, creating, and more into your hands. Use it in the studio to lay down drum tracks then take your US-2x2 and Ableton to the show and build a song right in front of your fans.

awesome buy

I have been using this little guy for about a year and a half.... I was planing on using it for a little while then upgrade it... I went out and bought a new forsite in the 1k range and really could not hear any difference on the recording or play back.... Needless to say I sent back the forsite.... This little guy is staying!

I use it everyday, and leave it plugged in. The auto-sleep function is really convenient. And the sound quality is pristine, immaculate, and noise-free. I can always rely on it to create clean, sharp recordings. I run several instruments into it: my MS-20, Microkorg, Kaoss Pad, and mic into it (it supplies phantom power 48 volts) and, yes, I know it's only got 2 input combo jacks in the front, so I have to swap out cables all the time, but the Tascam 2X2 keeps on truckin, flawlessly. It really is a dependable, solid piece of equipment. I never make music without it. I just wish it has a power switch, so that I can just power it off by a switch instead of having to unplug the USB cable, to hook up a new instrument. The gain is really adequate, in and out. I can leave the input gains for each instrument at mid level, and sound perfect. The output gain is really monstrous at mid level too. I also love the MIDI in and out. Works perfectly. So my only gripe is that I wish I had bought the Tascam 4X4 for the additional inputs! But for the space/cost savings, this unit it the best for recording audio and MIDI. I'm absolutely impressed by Tascam's level of quality. Definitely would by another!

Solid piece

I am using this with a Dell laptop i7 Windows 8, with 16 GB and Reaper. Download and install of drivers went smooth. Reaper recognized it right off. Very solid build quality. Heavy metal case with smooth operating controls with a positive feel. I am able to record and play back at 64 samples which is very acceptable latency. In the past I have always had to use direct monitoring, now I am able to record with FX from my DAW in my phones. This unit also has MIDI io which is not usually available at this price range. All in all a very solid piece.

Great Recording Interface

I've been using this now for a few days recording on my laptop PC crappy AMD 64 bit windows 7 this interface is Awesome!. I am using it with Sonar and Reaper it works great. Before you purchase this remember it's 2 mono inputs so you'll be recording on the left or the right channel if you want to record stereo into it, you will have to use both channels onto a stereo track. It's like having 2 really nice clear clean professional inputs great for the home or mobile recording artist. Best recording purchase I've made this year. As always Thanks Sweetwater.

RE: Pristine Sound Quality

Been testing this for nearly a month now. Non-stop w/ Logic Pro X, PT LE & Cubase. Not one single issue with MacBook Pro, or iPad Air. This thing is absolutely Sweet! Very solidly built. Will stack up against any 2 Ch. interface on the market.
