The story behind this Tele

When Jim Adkins, guitarist and frontman for Jimmy Eat World, challenged Fender to design his perfect guitar, a collaboration began that resulted in the JA-90 Telecaster Thinline. Fender sat down with Adkins and went over his old Fender TC-90 spec by spec, making some important changes that subsequently produced this unique model. The significant features include a maple neck set into a semi-hollow ash body, Seymour Duncan soapbar pickups, independent volume and tone controls, an Adjusto-Matic bridge, and an anchored tailpiece.

Built for tone

The semi-hollow ash body merges classic Tele tone with the added body and resonance of a semi-hollowbody guitar. The set maple neck bolsters the sustain, and the rosewood fingerboard adds warmth to the tone. A pair of Seymour Duncan soapbars provide vintage-tinged P-90 tones that cut through the mix.

Great guitar

love the look, and feel on this guitar. The P90 tone is nice, just what I was looking for.

Not just another telecaster.

When I saw and read about this guitar I was curious to say the least. Tele's have been one of my favorites since the late '60's, always there, always reliable. After investigation and actually playing one in the studio, I had to have it. The tone is sweet, fat and sassy. I've played it through various different amps from a Fender Blues Junior to a Marshall Model 2555 and everything in between with stunning results. I was introduced to it by Sweetwater Sound. Hey guys you did it again. Thanks for the memories.

Fender JA-90 Telecaster Thinline

The JA-90 has a lot going for it...very playable with a wide range of tone...the reason it didn't get a 5.0 from me is because it wasn't the one pictured online...the picture was an absolutely beautiful wood grain that I fell in love with...the one I got looked like the ugly stepsister in comparison...despite that I still like the guitar for the most important reasons...the way it plays and sounds...

I love this guitar

I have yet to get a bad tone out of this guitar. It was definitely love at first sight, sound and touch!

A real beauty

Love this guitar. It's a pretty serious tonal upgrade from my previous strat IMO. The semi-hollow chamber gives great resonance and sustain. Good range of sounds, although I find it hard to get away from the neck pickup, which sounds amazing. The wood finish is gorgeous and with Sweetwater you can choose the exact one you want!
