A Legendary Bass Cabinet

This is the speaker enclosure people mean when they refer to a SVT speaker cabinet. It's all about tone. Other than the color scheme, it is identical to the original SVT-810. Why eight 10" speakers? Ampeg learned early on that 10" speakers work much more efficiently than fifteens or eighteens, and if you put eight 10" speakers together, you can move a huge column of air. You'd need five 18" or six 15" speakers to move as much air as the SVT-810E! And they simply wouldn't be able to respond to transient peaks as quickly as Ampeg's 10" speakers. The SVT-810E is still manufactured using the same design dating all the way back to 1969. The Infinite Baffle design of these sealed enclosures produces vast amounts of tightly focused bass. That's why you'll find the SVT-810E onstage backlining the biggest bassists in the business. In the world of high performance bass cabs, the Ampeg SVT-810E stands tall and proud.

Reviews

The Mighty Monolith of the bass world.
First, I'd like repeat what we already know - Sweetwater's staff and customer service is second to none. My Sweetwater rep Tyler Davis was incredibly kind and helpful through all of my purchases, and I will definitely continue to make future purchases with him.

The good:

I purchased not one, but TWO of these monstrous monolith's to replace my current, and VERY worn/aged Ampeg 810 cabinet. There's not much to say that hasn't already been said over the last 50 years about Ampeg's product line - they really are the workhorses and tone giants of the bass world. I'm running these two cabinets in mono bridged through a SVT-5 PRO @1350 watts. The sound that comes from this rig is absolute overkill and complete insanity! The bottom end is huge - but the real glory comes from the lo-mid and hi-mid frequency range. It does wonders at cutting through a live mix. I play an Ibanez SR506 6 string bass, and play many different styles - primarily metal, slap, and also use distortion and other effects. It never dissapoints... until you try and move it around. But honestly, if you're interested in buying this cabinet, you already know what you're in for when it comes to mobility. Ampeg truly makes the best bass amplification products, hands down. You won't be dissapointed!

The bad:

It's heavy...?

The best...I have it paired with a fender bassman 800 and it's just a tone monster.
Music background: Metal/stoner

I saw what was said so far from everyone else. I pretty much think all that is all true but I bought this cab on 2-19-2021 and it didn't get to me until 3-2-2021.I was a little hot just to put it mildly, but when it did arrive I got it in my tractor and to my music room I set it up. I hooked it to my SVT classic amp and then hooked up a SVT212AV just to have a little more mellow smooth sound on the bottom end. Over all the this is a great cab is sure to be from Ampeg and my brand new Fender American Pro ll Jazz Bass Frettless it don't get no better than that Cowboy. I had just started doing business with Sweetwater and this happened with the delivery and I called guy Mr. Will and told him he was going to have to tighten things up if he wanted to keep me as one of paying guys on his paycheck. I would tell anyone that this is the REAL DEAL GO FOR IT!!!

1993 Ampet SVT 810E cabinet
One important thing I have noticed when playing through this 1993 810E cabinet is that all the notes on my 4 string bass neck are the same volume level.
All other cabinets I have played through seem to have loud notes and dead notes.
I thought the problem was my basses, and tried to adjust EQ to make up for it, with not very good results.
When playing through the 810E I just seem to play better, since my brain doesn't have to remember which note is hot and which ones are dead. I just play better.
-I no longer have the 1971 SVT Blue line head, since I sold it 2 years ago, but do use my healthy Gallien Krueger 800RB amplifier with my 810E.
What this cabinet will allow one to do is add a touch of bass with the tone controls for a wonderful warm sound, along with excellent mids and highs.
When I play the 810E everyone in the large crowd I play in front of, on Tuesday nights, with my outdoor gig tells me the bass sounds "amazing". This is told to me by other musicians.
Yes, its heavy, yes its big, but, an 810E cabinet really delivers!!!!!!!
Music background: Am 67 now and have been a bass player since 13 years old. I can read, and have a good ear.

Sweet. You will not regret this purchase.
