Wide range of tremolo shapes and rhythmic effects

Plug your guitar into the ehx Super Pulsar and choose from sine, triangle, and pulse wave shapes to create your ideal tremolo effect. Use identical settings on the left and right channels for classic tremolo effects, or adjust the phase to create stereo motion. You've even got nine rhythmic patterns to play with, and you can even tweak these to create your own patterns and save them for recall later on.

Creative control via expression pedal or CV

Connect a standard expression pedal or CV source to the ehx Super Pulsar, and you've got creative control over a variety of parameters. Modulartion rate, depth, shape, phase, and volume can all be controlled from an external source. Whether you're playing guitar or keyboards, this extra level of control can add an incredible amount of sonic movement and excitement to your performance.

Volume boost helps you maintain your optimum signal level

If you've played as many tremolo pedals as we have at Sweetwater, you know that sometimes your guitar's volume can dip a bit with certain tremolo effects. The ehx Super Pulsar packs a volume boost for that very reason - once you dial in your ideal tremolo sound, adjust the volume boost to maintain your signal level. When the depth control is set to minimum, you can effectively add a 12dB boost with the volume control.

Electro-harmonix Super Pulsar Stereo Tap Tremolo Pedal Features:
  • Analog tremolo pedal with stereo, mono, stereo to mono, and mono to stereo operation
  • Fine-tune the tremolo effect with variable sine, triangle, and pulse wave shapes

You Need This In Your Life

I'm amazed at how feature-rich this pedal is. In addition to this, it's hyper responsive. Fine-tuned adjustments make pretty significant changes and the impact of those adjustments varies depending on the characteristics of the input signal. This took some getting used to, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Best tremolo ever!

I did tons of research before buying this pedal, and it was mainly just to figure out if any tremolo could outdo the Super Pulsar. They couldn't. 100% analog signal path, but with tap tempo (both internal AND external), the ability to compensate for expected tremolo volume drops, a nearly infinite amount of LFO shapes, envelope followers to control rate and depth, pattern trem, usable as a stereo panner... There's basically no base this effect doesn't cover. One of my favorites is running a regular sine wave with the right channel LFO out of phase by 90 or 270 degrees. Makes it seem like the tremolo is perfectly encircling you. Best tremolo ever. :)

Tremolo dream come true

This thing is packed to the gills with great tremolo effects. It's surprisingly easy to work with considering all of the buttons, knobs and functions. It's stereo effects are difficult to stop playing with. it's one of those effects you get lost in. In the studio it is divine inspiration.

I thought this would be way better than it is. The tap is what sold me on it... however the tap is nearly impossible to sync up exactly with the tempo/song you're playing. I've tried it with just a metronome... tapping as carefully as I can, and I cannot get it to sync up. Might be user error... but either way, I'm not 100% satisfied with the rhythmic stuff this pedal does solely bc of tempo issues. Sounds excellent. Wide range of options as far as tremolo tones goes, but you knew that. Operation is a bit of a learning curve... kinda difficult to set up presets - you'd never figure it out without the manual. Buy it if you just want a versatile tremolo and don't really care about the rhythmic stuff it claims... however if you intend to do more rhythmic effects, good luck playing with anyone else.
