Solid State Logic kept the controls of the Blitzer simple to navigate yet detailed enough to cater to projects of virtually any kind. Once you’ve established your fitting compression Ratio and Transient setting, dial in a bit (or a lot!) of Drive to give your sound some analog character or totally limited decimation. You can level parallel compression and presence with the Mix control or use Auto Gain to keep your levels fixed to your selected Ratio and threshold. Feeling rowdy? Switch on Blitz! and inject your project with mic-slamming chaos! And in terms of responsiveness, the dedicated Attack and Release dials determine how your compression or limiting effect will interact with your tracks.
Additionally, you’ll find a Detection Sidechain at the bottom module of the user interface. Here, you can use the High Pass filter to rule out low frequency intrusions from inhibiting your finely crafted compression effect, which is tailor-made for booming areas of the mix such as drum buses. You’ve also got your say over Frequency, Bandwidth, and Gain leveling, making for an ultra-convenient means for keeping tabs on harsh points in vocal takes and more.
