The quick release is nothing new and certainly nothing to be excited about. Ultimate has made a solid quick release, not devoid of any plastic parts that might break (like their previous versions of this). The mount and receiver are both solidly built, all metal and easy to use. Pull the clip back and insert the receiving end. The 5 pack makes swapping out mics a snap… literally! If youre one that likes to A/B (C/D/E) your mics, this 5 pack is great. The little carrying case it comes with makes it easy to store and keep track of. We have probably a dozen in the studio and the only ones i can ever reliably find are the ones in the case. The release allows you to keep the mic stand position and just swap the mic out without having to move a boom arm or straight stand. Worth every penny!

I have a home studio and have probably bought over 10-12 of these over the years and they do exactly what I expected them to do: I can quickly change out Mics with no hassle. Haven't had one malfunction or break. Love em!

I got a pack of these a few months ago and find them quite useful. for mics, the Zoom, a Sony Video cam. I've used up the first 5 and may have to order another set before long. I keep finding things I want to be able to use them on.
