Overdrive and Distortion - 2 Pedals in 1!

With BOSS's popular OS-2 OverDrive/Distortion pedal, it's like having two in-your-face effects pedals in one. That's because, with it, you can produce all kinds of overdrive sounds, tons of distortion flavors, or a massive combination of the two. The OS-2 has four onboard controls (Level, Tone, Drive, and Color) which let you summon your sound. But, whether you drive it hard or give your tone just that perfect subtle crunch is up to you. Either way, you'll love the BOSS OS-2 with both single-coil and humbucking pickups.

BOSS OS-2 OverDrive/Distortion Pedal at a Glance:

  • Have it your way with overdrive, distortion, or a blend of the two

  • Preserves the subtle nuances of single-coil pickups
  • BOSS guitar pedals: rugged, reliable, more than 10,000,000 sold

Have it your way with overdrive, distortion, or a blend of the two
Can't decide between overdrive and distortion or wish you could find the perfect place between the two? You've found your pedal. The BOSS OS-2 OverDrive/Distortion effects pedal lets you dial in a huge range of flavor. You can call up a fat distortion tone, then drive it hard. And you can dial in whatever range of color you like best. For tweaking, there are four controls in all: Level, Tone, Drive, and Color.

Preserves the subtle nuances of single-coil pickups
Some distortion pedals really hit you in the face (which is great) but many take away the subtle dynamics and nuances you love about your single-coil pickups. If you're feeling like your intricate playing is being lost to a huge wall of distortion, then you owe the OS-2 OverDrive/Distortion Pedal a shot. BOSS designed the OS-2 to give you that same huge distortion sound you love, while maintaining the detail in your single-coil sound. That said, it's going to give you a tremendous result when paired with your humbucking-equipped guitar, too.

BOSS guitar pedals: rugged, reliable, more than 10,000,000 sold
More than 10,000,000 BOSS guitar and bass effects pedals have been sold to players worldwide, including such top players as Yngie Malmsteen, Dave Navarro, John Petrucci, Marty Friedman, Steve Vai, and Joe Satriani. You've also no doubt heard BOSS pedals recorded and onstage beneath the feet of bands of all genres, including Muse, The Killers, and Silversun Pickups. The reason for the success is clear: not only do BOSS effects pedals sound great, but they're also built like tanks and designed with serious use in mind. Each BOSS pedal is housed in a stomp-ready metal box and features a rubberized stomp area and base, to help safeguard against slipping. So, whether you're a fresh-out-of-the-gate beginner, an axe-veteran designing your dream pedalboard, or anywhere in between, you can depend on BOSS's proven line of pedals to craft your tone.

Muli-tracked guitar (live!)

If you are like me, you like recording distorted guitar and you like that huge wall of guitar sound... Well how do you achieve that LIVE? Use this guy, it sounds like you're running two amps. One small, tweed-like sound and another huge marshall type sound. There are loads of mods, but the pedal sounds great stock-- another trick is lower the voltage the pedal is getting or using an old battery. Regardless, this pedal is like getting an Sd-1 (overdrive like tubescreamer) and Ds-1 (rat-style distortion) in one unit, with the added benefit of being able to blend the circruits (parallel processing!!!)

I am so amazed with this pedal. It's the first pedel i bought and i bought it a few hours ago and i fell in love right away with the first chord. you have to buy this right now do it! DO IT!

Who's The Boss?

I bought this over 2 weeks ago from somebody who's obviously insane. The reason I say that is,why would somebody want to sell this pedal?I've been playing for over 30 years, and I've used Digitech,Pro-Co Rat,Morley,Alesis, etc. and all I can say is that this is the best overdrive/distortion pedal that I hve had the pleasure of owning. It's that good. You can go from a bluesy type tone to straight out metal, contrary to what other people say in their reviews of this product. The metal casing is quite sturdy and the controls are very easy to get used to.This is one versatile pedal, let me tell yu.This has a permanent place in my rig and is going nowhere.

Forget the rest. Still the Best

This was my first distortion pedal when I started playing about 27 years ago. I've gone through all types of other stand-alone pedals, and mutiple digital effects boxes and none of them sound as good as this one. I don't care what anybody says, this thing is awesome! Both in it's simplicity and it's sound. It's beautiful man! My favorite professional guitarists prefer stompboxes to the digital effects and it's easy to hear why. Stompboxes rule.
